On October 27th, Linkin Park returned to the stage for the first time since Chester Bennington's death. They invited several musicians and bands to perform at this concert, including Matt Shadows, Avenged Sevenfold vocalist.
Recently, Shadows delivered his response to the continued fate of Linkin Park in the Trunk Show program, 22 November.
"I only know Chester a bit, but I'm familiar with Mike Shinoda and Dave (Farrell)."
"They still have plenty of time to live. If indeed they love music wholeheartedly, they are entitled to continue to play music. I know Mike well enough, for me he has always been a leader (Linkin Park), is a person who continues to develop bands, record demos, and keep obsessed with the various details of the band, "said Shadows.
So far, Linkin Park has not released a statement about their band's continuation. No word yet whether Bennington will be replaced or not. They recently also formally canceled the tour of Japan.
Shadows regards Bennington as one of the best vocalists of his time. Avenged Sevenfold also lost the drummer, Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan, for an alcohol overdose.
"I think Mike realized we had also passed a similar incident, even though the death of The Rev did not happen because of suicide, but losing a career at a young age seemed pretty crazy."
"It's hard to get through, but Mike is a hard worker and dedicated, I guess he will not just stop."
"I do not think he could just stop, it's very unfortunate if he did decide so," said Shadows.
